Christian Agulles is a nationally respected engineering leader with over 30 years of experience designing high-performance, sustainable building systems across the United States. Throughout his career, he has worked in major urban centers including New York City, San Francisco, Las Vegas, and Washington, D.C., giving him a broad national perspective on the unique challenges and opportunities facing communities across diverse regions. His project work spans a wide range of building types, including sports arenas, U.S. embassies, LEED Platinum corporate headquarters, high-rise mixed-use developments, and deeply affordable housing communities.
As President and CEO of PAE, Christian leads one of the country’s premier engineering firms committed to regenerative design and climate action. Under his leadership, PAE has expanded its presence into key urban markets including San Francisco, Los Angeles, Denver, and New York City. He has been instrumental in advancing all-electric, grid-interactive, net-zero carbon buildings that integrate resilience, equity, and long-term environmental stewardship.
Christian’s approach to leadership is rooted in his personal faith and a commitment to service, humility, and purpose. He believes in the responsibility of engineers to use their skills to solve society’s most urgent challenges, especially at the intersection of climate, housing, and social justice.
Christian has been involved with DignityMoves since its first project at 33 Gough Street in San Francisco. He leads PAE’s pro bono efforts in support of DignityMoves, helping deliver technical expertise to interim supportive housing projects that convert underutilized land into dignified, healing spaces for people experiencing homelessness. He recognizes DignityMoves as a bold and scalable model that restores stability and community while individuals transition toward permanent housing.
