DignityMoves to Build 88 Supportive Homes in Ventura County with New Homekey+ Grant
August 25, 2025
We’re excited to share big news from Ventura County: DignityMoves, in partnership with Ventura County, the City of Camarillo, Gold Coast Health Plan, and Many Mansions, has been awarded nearly $28 million through California’s new Homekey+ program.
This funding, made possible by voter-approved Proposition 1 and administered by the California Department of Housing & Community Development (HCD), will bring 88 supportive homes to Lewis Road in Camarillo. These dignified, private units will be paired with on-site services and operated by Many Mansions to help residents transition out of street homelessness.
The Lewis Road project is part of a growing wellness campus that integrates housing, behavioral health treatment, and community resources on county-owned land. The groundbreaking is slated for March 2026, with completion expected within 12–18 months.
For DignityMoves, this is our fifth Homekey project. From Rohnert Park to Alameda, San Bernardino to Oakland, and now Ventura County, the Homekey program has been a catalyst for innovation. The efforts to date prove that it’s possible to build supportive housing quickly, cost-effectively, and at scale to meet urgent needs.
We’re honored to be part of this transformative effort and grateful to HCD, Governor Newsom, and our local partners for their leadership and collaboration. Together, we’re building not just housing, but pathways to stability, health, and hope.
